I am excited to announce that I have another niece, Alivia Anne! Congratulations to the happy parents!

PW Photography

Every once in a while The Pioneer Woman hosts a photo contest.  Just for fun, and because I haven't posted in over a month, I thought I would post a few photos that I entered and made her page.  The first contest was about adding texture to a photo, and the second was "bugs."  I tried to locate some cool bugs in our yard, but didn't find any.  The only reason I did get a bug photo was because I happened to spot one while I was waiting at one of our barns.

The photos that people take for these contests are amazing, check it out sometime.

Happy Mother's Day!

The Evarts Family

Now for some shots from the official shoot last weekend!  I had the pleasure of spending the morning with the Evarts family.  They were so great and I had a lot of fun!  Here are a few of the shots:

Tulip Festival

I had a shoot at the Woodburn Tulip Festival this past weekend.  I had never been there before, and I must say it was pretty fun.  Lots of color and variety.  Before I share photos from the actual shoot, here are a few flower shots.

The Pioneer Woman!

Monday I went up to Beaverton to attend the Pioneer Woman's cookbook signing.  As soon as I read that she was coming to Oregon I asked for the day off because I knew I couldn't miss it!

The signing was at 6:00p and I arrived at Powell's Bookstore at 11:30a to check the place out.  I learned where the signing would take place and headed off for lunch and some shopping while I was in the big city.  I returned at 1:00p and settled into a chair right by where the big event would be set up.  About an hour later I realized some signs had been posted and I learned that tickets would be handed out at 4:30 and I was in the wrong spot!

So I grabbed my gear and moved from what I thought was first place in line to 7th.  Still, not too bad.  Slowly over the next couple hours fellow PW fans filtered in.  My sister and niece joined me in line and when 4:30 came around we got our beloved tickets and second row seats!  We were allowed to save a couple of seats, so I was able to grab some for my sister-in-law and a friend since they couldn't come up as early.  Pretty much I was a life-saver with all my hours in line ;)

Due to some traffic delays PW showed up a few minutes late and rushed right to the podium to apologize.  Funny thing was, Miles (the guy in charge) had the mic and PW talked into an empty stand. She said she hoped no one caught that with their camera- sorry PW!

I did hear Miles say he gave out 300 tickets.  After that, people had to wait in a general line to get signed.  It was fun seeing so many people turn out!

A few minutes before PW showed up, my niece decided she couldn't take the anticipation any longer. You can read her story here.

The Pioneer Woman was so much fun to listen to.  She is down to earth, has a great sense of humor, and is one of those people you just want to be around.  I loved listening to the Q&A session, and she even did an Ethel Merman impersonation!

Since we had tickets 7 & 8,  we were in the first group to get our books signed (the tickets started in the 20s, thus our tickets said 27 & 28, but they actually were 7 & 8).  That was nice so that my sister could get home at a decent hour with the baby.

After Ree signed our books, I told my sister to look at the camera for a photo by our 'line-neighbor.'  PW thought I was talking to her and said a quick "oh" and looked up.  Oops.  I told her I wasn't trying to boss her around, just my sister.  But she was very gracious about it. :)

I had a lot of fun and it was great getting to meet the famous PW.  Talk about a talented lady! And if you have no idea what I am talking about, go HERE right now!

Little D

Last week my sister, brother-in-law, and niece came down to Albany for a few days.  And of course, I followed D around with my camera :)

D loved the rocks.  She tried to sneak one into her mouth, but her mom caught her!
